Symantec Product Manager – Security.

Responsibilities


•Synthesize input from customers, sales teams, partners and competitive data into a compelling strategy, product vision and roadmap.

•Collaborate with a top-tier development team to define and deliver new products and product capabilities.

•Work with Product Marketing and other cross-functional teams to define and execute product roll-out plans.

•Monitor competing products and perform feature/functionality analysis and benchmarking.

•Generate pricing analysis and price list proposals.

•Provide strategic support for sales and marketing (direct and indirect) via product and market training, evangelism, and key customer/partner meetings.

Qualifications

•3-5 years of product management experience, 7+ years total business experience.

•Proficiency in IT infrastructure technologies, and security issues in particular.

•Technical undergraduate degree.

•Passionate belief in the product and business mission.

•Strong analytical and decision-making skills that can be applied in a fast moving environment.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Superior presentation skills.

•Experience working with geographically dispersed development teams.

•Willingness to travel roughly 40% of time.

•Experience of Platforms and an understanding of Networking is essential.

•Strong personal presence, capable of engaging senior management.

•Good blend of business/commercial, sales and technical skills.

•Understands the market issues and trends affecting the IT Security business and Symantec’s differentiators versus the competition.

•Self-starter who is pro-active, energetic, flexible, creative, with lots of initiative and a positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude.

•Results-driven with strong goal-orientation.

•Comfortable/Competent with both sales and delivery activities.

•Demonstrable technical experience in the following areas.

•Experience of Security Risk Management, Vulnerability Assessment and Intrusion Prevention, Network and Gateway Security.

•Preference given to individuals with strong networking background and expertise in IT Security Solutions.

•Ideally from a Network Security Team within a Consultancy Company/SI or a Security Vendor.

•Presentation and public speaking skills.

•Fluent in English and (Arabic speakers are preferred since there will be a lot of interaction with Arabic speaker clients).
